December 11, 2025
HARRISBURG – Reps. Josh Bashline (R-Clarion/Armstrong) and Abby Major (R-Armstrong/Westmoreland) announced today the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission (PHMC) awarded $9,000 to the Armstrong County Historical Museum and Genealogical Society.
“It is great to see the Armstrong County Historical Museum and Genealogical Society receive these critical dollars,” said Bashline. “This is an important investment toward preserving and teaching our shared history so we can enrich our future generations. It was rewarding to help the historical society team secure this funding.”
“I’m pleased to support this grant,” Major said. “Historical societies play a vital role in safeguarding the past in order to help future generations gain insight into how the region has changed and developed over time.”
The grant comes from the Cultural and Historical Support program, which provides general operating support to Pennsylvania museums and official historical societies that are not directly supported by other state agency operating support programs.
