Bashline to Host Illegible License Plate Event July 24
July 14, 2025
HARRISBURG – Rep. Josh Bashline (R-Clarion/Armstrong) announced he will be hosting an illegible license plate event on Thursday, July 24, from noon to 2 p.m., at the Clarion Mall Parking Lot, 22631 Route 68, Clarion.
Residents in the 63rd District are eligible for a replacement license plate if its numbers or letters cannot be read from 50 feet or it is otherwise damaged due to blistering, peeling or discoloration. All drivers with illegible license plates will receive assistance in filling out the paperwork. They will need to bring their driver’s license, vehicle, registration card and the affected plate. Sheriff Shawn Zerfoss with the Clarion County Sheriff’s Department and another deputy will be on hand to assist.
Attendees will not receive their new plate that day as it will be mailed directly once processed by PennDOT.
“It’s normal for license plates to wear out over time from weather and age, and the process can be burdensome,” said Bashline. “I am grateful to host this event so my constituents can conveniently replace their damaged and hard-to-read license plates at no cost.”
Anyone with questions is being asked to call Bashline’s Clarion district office at 814-226-9000 or his Kittanning district office at 724-954-3613.
